Darlene Bradlee: Registered Yoga Teacher ~ RYT-200

Darlene’s love for dance and movement began at the age of five. In 1969, at the young age of ten she accompanied her mother to a Hatha Yoga class, and since that time, these two disciplines have remained soulful passions for her. “In high school, I followed the postures from a book; there were no classes around. I wanted to learn this ancient practice because I loved it, it worked for me, and has ever since.” Following a twenty five year span of teaching jazz dance to adults, her classes are a joyful blend of postures and movement with attention to proper alignment, highly influenced by her overall knowledge of the body as a dancer. She is a compassionate teacher who respects all levels of students and strives to inspire each one on their own path to greater acceptance, self-awareness and healing.
Her first yoga teacher certification was in Ashtanga Yoga where she learned the postures in Sanskrit from the original ancient system with India Yoga Master Manju Jois. (Manju Jois is the son of Pattabhi Jois, the yogi who brought Ashtanga Yoga to the United States from India in 1972). Subsequently, she has studied with a number of internationally known teachers, including Dharma Mittra (known as father of modern yoga), Baron Baptiste, Barbara Benaugh, Edward Clark of Tripsichore, Cyndi Lee, Bryan Kest, and Natasha Rizopoulos.
Darlene is also a graduate of the Finding Inner Peace 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program which includes the study of anatomy and physiology, nutrition, yoga philosophy and teaching techniques for varied populations. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the National Yoga Alliance (RYT®-200). The YA is certifying body of yoga organizations and senior teachers dedicated to upholding high ethical practices and teaching standards for yoga nationwide. She holds a Pilates mat certification through Balancepoint Studios and is certified to teach Yogilates™(2002) through Jonathan Urla of New York, Master Pilates Trainer and Yogilates™ founder. She continues her studies in both yoga and Pilates by attending workshops and conferences several times a year at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY and at Kripalu Center, Stockbrige, MA.
