Darlene Bradlee: Visual Artist
Darlene is a multi-dimensional artist whose work in the visual arts includes photography, painting, and mixed media work. Her deep connection to nature, as expressed through photography, includes anything colorful and interesting to her senses: floral abstracts, portraiture of animals and people, and the everyday and ordinary when it presents itself as something worth noting. Her photographs and paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and have won numerous awards. The New England Baptist Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Copley Group, Brookline; The Fiduciary Trust, Boston, Harcourt General in Newton, the Ann Marvin Realty Company, and various restaurants and businesses are some of the venues with permanent collections of her work. She also shows in small galleries and local exhibitions. In 2006 she was included in the book “Like Sand from Orchid’s Lips”, viewable at the publisher’s website: www.cafeandre.com.

Statement:
“The natural world has always been a source of inspiration for me. Photography offers me one way to preserve an instant of time in the dynamic motion of life. My work is about creating visually effective images that bring good composition, intriguing light, a splash of color and a little mystery to engage viewers in a compelling way, allowing them to draw on their own experiences and emotions, and hopefully leaving a lasting impression on their thought process.”
