Art and Soul Space welcomes yoga teacher and artist

Jackie Kilroe

"It is wonderful to feel the wind, the ebb and sway of nature, and the vibrations of

the great old earth.  It is in nature that I feel most at home and most at peace.  This natural flow of the elements and the feeling of freedom when exposed to them is something I continually work to capture in my yoga practice and combine with my background in gymnastics, dance, and Pilates.  In doing so, I create a space of gentle encouragement and challenging ease where we can ‘just be’ in the moment."

After practicing yoga for many years, Jackie completed her Hatha yoga certification in 2007 from Finding Inner Peace Yoga School and is currently pursuing her advanced certification.  Her teaching focuses on Vinyasa flows ranging in level from beginner to advanced.

In addition to her passion for yoga, Jackie is equally driven to creat art.  Learning to paint from a young age under her father's guidance, she found inspiration in nature.  Trained in oil painting at Walnut Hill School for the Arts she continued working in this medium throughout college while pursuing her degree in Anthropology and Literature from the American University of Paris.  Currently, her work is with a range of mediums including acrylic, watercolor, pastels, and oil pastels to create abstract visions of flowers, landscapes and figures.

Art and Soul Space welcomes NIA teacher and speech pathologist

Jan Yeh

Jan Yeh is a Certified Nia instructor and one of the first to offer Nia on the South Shore. In 2005, Jan moved from Acton to Scituate, MA to live closer to her aging parents. The one thing she couldn’t pack was Nia.  As a devoted Nia student for several years, she couldn’t imagine leaving Nia behind.  With her former Nia teacher’s encouragement, she took the leap and become a Certified White Belt Nia instructor.

After training with the Nia founders Debbie and Carlos Rosas, and a 3-month intensive practice, she started teaching classes and giving demos for folks from Carver to Cambridge-in fitness clubs, Pilates studios, healing centers and corporate exercise programs.  Jan is truly looking forward to bringing this unique and fun fitness program to her home town community.

Philosophy:  “Keep moving.” “Variety is the spice of life”. “Try it, you’ll like it”.  Movement is accessible to everyone at any age and in any stage of health and fitness. The body has a tremendous and never-ending capacity to adapt, strengthen and heal. The body benefits from

and craves novel forms of movement. My greatest desire is to share this movement practice with people so they can attune their body, mind and spirit to the pursuit of personal fitness.
